The new Panoptix Forward PS51-TH thru-hull transducer brings Garmin''s revolutionary Panoptix technology to an even greater range of vessels.

Designed to give boaters more confidence and peace of mind when navigating unfamiliar water, the new phased-array multi-beam transducer incorporates Panoptix FrontVu forward-looking sonar, which displays the bottom up to 300ft (90m) ahead of the boat at 8-10 times the current water depth.

Coupled with its fast update rate, the PS51-TH delivers almost instant feedback of what''s in front of the vessel, providing information skippers need to make critical navigation decisions allowing time to react to obstacles by changing course, if needed.

Thanks to its narrow 20 degrees beam the forward-looking sonar allows skippers to focus on the bottom in front of the vessel and shows fewer false positives of obstructions off to each side of the vessel. To aid stabilisation in rough water conditions the PS51-TH includes an AHRS motion sensor.

Compatible with a wide range of Garmin chartplotters, FrontVu sonar data can be easily shared with other chartplotters across the Garmin Marine Network. With an easy-to-understand interface, FrontVu clearly displays the bottom and provides digital depth and temperature, doing away with the need to purchase a separate traditional transducer for basic depth information. Simply plug-in the transducer once installed, no additional black box is required.

The PS51-TH provides both FrontVu and LiveVu Forward technologies. LiveVu Forward shows an image of targets moving toward or away from the boat, even while stationary, in real time. The feature can be used in split screen mode with other Panoptix all-seeing sonar views, providing real-time sonar imagery of what''s around and in front of the vessel at video-like speed.

Power and sailing hull shapes with a deadrise of up to 25 degrees can be accommodated while the low profile stainless steel transducer is designed to withstand speeds up to 45 knots, with optimal operation at speeds of up to 8 knots.

The Panoptix Forward PS51-TH is compatible with the Garmin echoMAP CHIRP 75sv and 95sv, the new GPSMAP 752xs/952xs and 1022xsv/1222xsv series plus GPSMAP 8400, 7400, 751xs/820xs/1020xs series.
